Religious Art and Sculpture

Juan Antonio Blanco is a Spanish artist from Seville
who has a long and extensive career as a religious
wood sculptor.

His carved images are created following
traditional methods and techniques of the old Spanish masters of religious imagery.

Totally carved and polychromed by him, Juan A. only uses high quality wood for his work.
Besides working with wood, he also creates clay, fiberglass, bronze and stone sculptures.

His many sculptures of Christ, the Virgin Mary,
Apostles, Angels, Cherubs, Saints and other Christian figures can be found all over Spain where many churches and parishes are home to his artworks, most of which are taken out on procession through the streets during Holy Week and other religious events.
